Houston, Texas

Wow, it is November, and it is hot, at least here in Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States. We played right downtown at a rather classy club with good sound and comfortable places to sit. Texans are known for their hospitality, and the folks at the club were no exception. They bought us a few rounds and found us a place to stay, about all we can ask for on an adventure like this.

In Texas, everything is branded. The state flag is never hard to find and the star, essentially the state’s logo, is on everything. The local beer, Lone Star, is even branded with a big star, obviously, but my favorite part of the label is the inclusion of the famously gruff tagline "Don’t mess with Texas" which is printed on the label’s backside. The statement reminded me of something else Texas is famous for, a ridiculous amount of machismo.
